Where Did You Go?

pfth... shwfth...puh... *WHACK* *WHACK*.. phew...

Oh, excuse me I was just beating off some cobwebs since it's been SO LONG since I've been on here (but let's be serious, I would never actually touch a cobweb. Unless I maybe had a 10 ft. pole.)

Well you guessed it, just like every other broke college student I've been living off ramen here for the last 3 weeks whilst studying for my finals (not my usual chicken flavour though since I've recently become a vegetarian! But more of that later). As it is, I have not been able to do anything but study, study, and um, .... oh yeah STUDY, and as a result -- besides leaving my apartment in a considerable (and slightly embarrassing) state -- I have not had even the smallest about of time to dedicate to my blog. Nor have I even put any real effort into my outfits lately worth documenting.

BUT, guess what today was? My last final!

*Cue trumpets and fireworks*

Thank you, thank you. Really, you're too kind.

ANYWAY. Back to business. Since I don't really have any new outfits, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to go through my reserves.

In English, it means I'm backlogged. So here are a bunch of random outfits that never made it into posts. I almost thought of saving some for the next time I had to take a break from this wonderful release of creative energy I call a blog, but I'm going to be changing my hair soon and we're getting more into summer styles so I'm just gonna dump 'em all on ya now. Feel free to leave a comment letting me know which outfit you like best and why!

You know how unhealthily obsessed as I am with Harry Potter? Yeah, that's my dad with the Beatles. It's pretty much all I grew up on. So for Christmas I got my dad a Beatles shirt and he was all excited and then started laughing, and when I asked him why, he told me to open my present. He'd gotten me this shirt. LOL.

I hadn't had a chance to do my hair yet but Ingrid came over and since she always looks really fucking cute, I told her she had to be in my picture. But I think I changed right afterward though 'cause she looked cuter than me and that's not okay.

I love this skirt. It's so flattering!

My Mermaid Outfit

I love anything corduroy

Just discovered my new headband is the exact same shade as my mint top! Naturally I had to put them together
Leather jackets just make everything more badass -- especially pastels! Gahhh I just love the contrast!

There I go again with my favourite sweater! And favourite solid blue dress... And favourite maiden braids...
And favourite blue butterfly earrings. lol.
Who said you can't have too much of a good thing?
Photo props to my roommate Emily!

So. I've been struggling with green. I love it, but it has to be exactly the right shade. And there's really no such thing as pastel green, only neon (ew) so I have to work with what I can find. So when I found this green shirt at my favourite store V Generation with its built-in sweater clip for $12 I couldn't NOT get it. So since I'm learning to work with it, here is one shirt five ways!

This is a very, very old tan/black polka dot dress that I've just never had the heart to get rid of, in spite of its tears and stains. But I found I could hide a bunch of those with my mint blue shirt and a little bit of interest around the waist with my lacy belt.
And I'd like to point out that I am actually a shoe fanatic and own over 50 pairs. So why, as I go through all of these pictures, do I end up wearing my boots every time?  I just don't know how it keeps happening. lol.

And lastly, my roommate Emily brought out her nice camera for this one! And for a change of scenery, here's my kitchen. And yes, that is a chalkboard wall. :)
 hi Buster!
Guess who's getting ready to go even pinker? THIS GIRL.

A Zombie... Bride... Nerf War??

YEP. A Zombie Bride Nerf War.
(But I'll get to that in a minute)

So last week was my friend Ingrid's birthday. You may recognize her from my Easter post. She is one of my best friends in the world and the farther you scroll down, you will probably see why. For her actual birthday we went around doing pretty much the same thing I did for my bday -- getting as much free shit as possible everywhere we went! Only this time we decided to wear tutus. 'Cause why the fuck not.
You can't really see it, but I'm wearing a black velvet bow over my ponytail that I made from some of my Fashion District material
At Toys R Us buying Nerf Guns                                                               At Cafe 50's gettin' Birthday Deal Meals!

So since her birthday was during the middle of the week, she decided to have her party the following Saturday. What was the theme of the party, you ask? Why that would be ZOMBIE BRIDE NERF WAR. No explanations necessary.
I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa
Brain Cupcakes!
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
I'm radioactive, radioactive...
I had almost as much fun editing these photos as I did taking them. Almost.
:)

What's So Special About the 4th of May?

May The 4th Be With You!
So as I've mentioned before, I am a proud nerd who takes part in many a fandom. It just so happens that my whole family (mostly my dad and my brother) are OBSESSED with Star Wars, so growing up in a house full of Darth Vadar Halloween costumes and debating which order to watch the movies in, I of course grew to love this iconic series as well!

Halloween when I was 8. I was a princess, my brother was Darth Vader and my sister, who's choking me, was a monster. This is kind of our personalities in a nutshell. HA!

Unfortunately I didn't get any merch when I moved out (not that I could have taken the movies with me because I don't have a VHS player anymore. lol) so come May 4th I was at loss for what to do with myself since my friend had invited me out kind of last minute to a bar that was having a sci-fi themed night for the occasion. Thus, I ran to the nearest Ross, grabbed a plain white cotton tee for 5 bucks and started putting together my own designs to print out on my iron-on transfer paper (which you can get a Michael's pretty cheap). This was the final product! I figured I'd doll up a simple t-shirt and jeans look with a pair of pumps and some pin-up rolls.

I always loved Return of the Jedi, not only for it's epicness, but because of the Ewoks! So when I found these illustrated book covers I almost died and went YEP that's what's going on my shirt :p
 Front                                                                                         Back

Oh you know, just chillin' with Princess Leia.

Even though it was a night for Star Wars celebrations, the dress code was technically "sci-fi/fantasy" so some of my ever-loyal Potterhead friends wore their Hogwart's garb! Gotta love 'em.

Not only that but they also made HP themed drinks for us! And let me just tell you, these are the most spot-on I've ever had in my life. So much so that I asked for the recipes.   From the left we have Liquid Luck, Gillywater and Butterbeer. No -- not just Butterbeer, warm Butterbeer. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's almost like how it tastes in my dreams (yes I dream about what Butterbeer tastes like. And it's fucking AWESOME).

And then when I get home at like 2 in the morning, I'm about to take my make-up off when I brush out my hair and go OMG that looks so much better than it had all night. lol. I HATE that, like okay cool now my hair looks perfect as I'm about to sleep on it but not for all the pictures I took when I was out in public all night. Great. Thanks hair.

The point of this pointless story being that I had to snap a selfie before I passed out to remind myself next time that there really is no point in trying to curl my hair. It's just not going to happen.
